Cargill Cares Wichita Council
To facilitate and promote local community involvement, Cargill locations worldwide in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America are forming employee-led Cargill Cares Councils. Through these councils, Cargill collectively contributes millions of charitable dollars and thousands of volunteer hours to our communities each year. These councils seek to partner with local nonprofit and charitable organizations that meet their guidelines and that can engage their employees in community involvement.
Cargill Cares Wichita aims to accomplish its goal of leading corporate citizenship by managing monetary and in kind grants and coordinating volunteer opportunities for Cargill employees. Cargill Cares Wichita is made up of the following Wichita businesses: Cargill Dressings, Sauces & Oils; Cargill Grain & Oilseed Supply Chain; Horizon Milling and Cargill Meat Solutions.
Our Vision
Cargill Cares will facilitate Cargill meeting its commitment to being a leader in corporate citizenship by nourishing the people and possibilities that reside within the greater Wichita community.
Our Focus
Nutrition and Health: Programs and projects that address long-term solutions to hunger, increase access to health education and/or basic health care in developing and emerging countries, and improve youth nutrition and wellness.
Education: We support programs and projects that improve access to primary and secondary education for underprivileged children in Cargill communities; training and schooling to improve skills in science, technology and engineering; and partnerships with higher education institutions that provide access to the best people and ideas relevant to the worlds we serve: agriculture, food and risk management.
Environment: Projects that protect and improve accessibility to water resources; promote biodiversity conservation in agricultural areas; and educate children about conservation and/or proper sanitation.
Employee Involvement: Special emphasis will be given to those organizations that have the involvement and support of Cargill employees.
